The Latin & Hispanic community is playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the U.S. economy, particularly within the travel sector. According to the inaugural “U.S. Latin & Hispanic Traveler Report,” commissioned by Airbnb, this group is poised to take 10% more leisure trips annually, contributing an estimated economic impact of $165 billion by 2025. Spending per trip is projected to rise by $180 year-over-year.

The report highlights that 54% of Latin & Hispanic travelers consider Airbnb or short-term rentals for leisure trips, compared to 42% of non-Hispanics. Additionally, the number of U.S. Airbnb guests who selected Spanish as their primary language grew by 32% in 2023.

Airbnb’s Chief Business Officer, Dave Stephenson, noted, “We are encouraged to see U.S. Latin & Hispanic travelers embracing Airbnb and increasing their presence within our community.”

With nearly 20% of the U.S. population, the Latin & Hispanic community’s influence is growing, and its spending power is expected to exceed $2.5 trillion by 2025. This demographic’s preference for family travel, social media-driven trip planning, and cultural connections to Latin America is fueling new trends within the travel industry.
