Southern Nevada is set to experience smoky skies and cooler temperatures in the coming days as weather patterns shift and wildfire smoke from Southern California moves into the region. According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, smoke from fires in Southern California, including the Line, Bridge, and Airport fires, has been drifting into southern Nevada, leading to hazy conditions. The smoke is expected to linger through Saturday.

Currently, fair weather is forecasted through Saturday, with clear skies and highs in the 90s across the Mojave Desert. Winds will be light, but the smoke and haze will be the primary concern, particularly in southern San Bernardino and Mohave counties.

Starting Sunday, a transition to cooler, fall-like weather is expected as a low-pressure system moves in from the Pacific Northwest. This system will bring gusty southerly winds on Sunday and Monday, along with a potential for more wildfire smoke to be transported into the region. The cooler temperatures will persist through next week, with highs expected to be 10 to 15 degrees below normal, providing a break from the recent warmth.

In addition to the smoke and winds, there is a chance of rain early next week, particularly on Sunday and Monday. However, there is uncertainty regarding how much moisture will be drawn into the area from the Gulf of California due to Tropical Storm Ileana. As a result, it remains unclear how much precipitation the region will receive.
