Southern California will experience cooler temperatures and a deep marine layer this weekend, as a broad trough of low pressure develops over the western U.S., according to the National Weather Service. Clouds will be slow to clear from coastal areas, and a weak cold front may bring light rain between Sunday and Monday.

Forecasters expect drizzle and clouds Sunday morning, with increasing chances of light rain Monday, especially in the southern foothills. Rainfall totals are predicted to be less than a quarter inch. Additionally, smoke from the Bridge Fire may affect northeastern Los Angeles County throughout Saturday.

The cooler, cloudy conditions are set to continue into early next week.
