A brief warmup in Central California today will be followed by a significant cooldown starting Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will remain below average through next Friday, with rain and even snow in higher elevations.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 11 PM Sunday to 5 PM Monday for areas above 8,000 feet in Fresno County, including Yosemite National Park, where there is a 35-65% chance of 2 inches or more of snow at Tioga Pass.

The San Joaquin Valley has a 40-60% chance of measurable rainfall on Monday, while wind gusts in Eastern Kern County may elevate wildfire risks despite improved humidity.
