Central California is bracing for a series of weather events this week. A Wind Advisory remains in effect for Eastern Kern County until 5 AM Tuesday, with strong gusts expected through tonight. Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory is in place for the Sierra Nevada above 8,000 feet until 5 PM today due to possible snow and strong winds.

A strong upper-level low pressure system near Yosemite has brought minimal precipitation so far, but increased instability could result in showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the Sierra Nevada. Temperatures will stay below average through Thursday before warming up over the weekend.

Another upper-level trough is forecast to bring more precipitation from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening. While this system is expected to be wetter, snow levels will remain high, and the San Joaquin Valley might see light rainfall.

The weather will clear by Friday as a high-pressure ridge builds, leading to warmer conditions over the weekend with temperatures potentially reaching the 90s in the San Joaquin Valley.
