American Airlines is continuing to downsize its operations at Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), canceling four more routes by the end of 2024. The airline, which has been steadily reducing its presence at AUS, will now only offer flights to 10 destinations, half of its previous network.

Starting November 4th, American will no longer serve Nashville International (BNA), Boston Logan International (BOS), Raleigh–Durham International (RDU), or John Wayne Airport (SNA). These cuts will leave competitors like Delta and Southwest Airlines to fill the gaps, particularly on the busy routes between Austin and Nashville, Boston, Raleigh, and Orange County.

While Southwest will take over all demand for the AUS-SNA route, offering more capacity with its 737-700 fleet, American's reduction continues a broader trend of scaling back its AUS operations.
