A Heat Advisory is in effect for the interior East Bay, South Bay, and Santa Cruz Mountains starting at 11 AM today as temperatures are expected to soar into the 90s and even approach 100 degrees in some inland areas. The heat will continue into Tuesday, with the North Bay remaining under an advisory through the afternoon. Hazy conditions are expected due to light winds and poor air ventilation.

By late Tuesday night, temperatures are forecast to cool as a developing trough along the central California coast brings more seasonal conditions. The cooler weather is expected to last through the weekend, with a broad low-pressure system from the Gulf of Alaska influencing the region.
