The National Weather Service in Portland has issued an updated forecast as high pressure moves back into the region, leading to warmer temperatures and onshore flow. Starting today, the upper trough is shifting northward, resulting in decreased rain chances, but gusty northerly winds of 15 to 20 mph are expected in the Willamette Valley, particularly south of Salem.

On Tuesday, residents can anticipate unseasonably warm temperatures, with highs reaching around 90 degrees—10 to 15 degrees above normal. However, this warmth will be short-lived, as a new front is set to arrive Wednesday night, increasing the likelihood of rainfall throughout the remainder of the week. While the rain may not be as heavy as initially forecasted, there remains a 15-20% chance of thunderstorms along the south Washington Cascades. As conditions evolve, further updates will be provided.
