The National Weather Service in Seattle reports that low clouds and areas of mist and drizzle will gradually clear today, giving way to sunny skies. An upper-level ridge is building over Western Washington, pushing a weak weather system near the Canadian border further north, ending chances of showers in the region. High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-60s to mid-70s.

Tonight, a thermally induced surface trough will move up the Oregon coast and reach Washington, causing low-level flow to briefly turn offshore and keeping overnight temperatures elevated in the mid-50s to lower 60s. Some areas may experience record high minimum temperatures.

Tuesday is forecasted to be the warmest day of the week, with highs reaching the 70s and possibly the lower 80s in the Southwest Interior. Record high minimums could again be observed overnight as clouds from an approaching frontal system move in. Rain is expected to arrive on the North Coast after midnight, with chances of rain spreading west of Puget Sound and over the Northwest Interior.
