According to a recent study by WalletHub, the three most unhealthy cities in California are Fontana, San Bernardino, and Bakersfield, ranking as the lowest in terms of health and wellness among the state’s urban areas.

WalletHub’s analysis evaluated 182 cities across the United States, including the 150 most populated cities and additional major cities in each state. The assessment was based on four key dimensions: Health Care, Food, Fitness, and Green Space. The study utilized 41 relevant metrics, each graded on a 100-point scale, with higher scores indicating more favorable conditions for a healthy lifestyle.

Fontana topped the list as the unhealthiest city in California, followed closely by San Bernardino and Bakersfield. The report suggests that residents in these cities may face challenges related to healthcare access, food quality, fitness opportunities, and availability of green spaces, which are crucial for promoting a healthy lifestyle.
