The prestigious report, now in its 40th year, evaluates nearly 1,500 colleges and universities across the nation based on up to 17 measures of academic quality, with a focus on social mobility and post-graduate success.

Among the standout California institutions, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) were ranked first and second, respectively, in the "Top Public Schools: National Universities" category. In addition, University of California, Riverside and California State University, Long Beach tied for third place in the "Top Performers on Social Mobility" category, reflecting their commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and ensuring their success post-graduation.

The rankings also highlight The Master’s University and Seminary in Santa Clarita, which saw a significant rise, jumping 36 spots in the national rankings. The focus on social mobility and student outcomes underscores the importance of providing students with a strong foundation for their futures.
