Broadband Installation Project to Impact Traffic Along SR-28 in Rural California County

PLACER COUNTY – Motorists traveling along State Route 28 (SR-28) near the north shore of Lake Tahoe should expect delays next week as Caltrans continues a broadband installation project. This effort is part of a statewide initiative to bring high-speed internet to rural communities. Construction will be managed by Teichert Construction, with one-way traffic controls in place from Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4, at various locations between the Nevada state line and Tahoe Vista.

Drivers could face delays of up to one hour, especially during school drop-off and pick-up times. Motorists are advised to allow extra time and follow work zone safety precautions. Work schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen events.
