Los Angeles, CA — A warming trend is expected to bring above-normal temperatures to Southern California through midweek, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Coastal areas will remain cooler due to a persistent marine layer, while inland regions will see temperatures climb significantly.

On Sunday, extensive low clouds and fog affected coastal regions and adjacent valleys, with patchy dense fog in some areas. These clouds are expected to clear by noon, though some beaches, especially along the Central Coast, may stay cloudy into the afternoon. Coastal temperatures will remain below normal, with highs in the 60s and 70s, while inland valleys, mountains, and deserts will experience highs in the 80s and 90s.

A ridge of high pressure will build over the region starting Monday, leading to a substantial warming trend. By Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures in the valleys and Antelope Valley could reach or exceed 100°F. Coastal areas will stay cooler, but dense fog may continue to impact visibility in the mornings.

Winds will also increase, with gusty conditions expected in the southwestern Santa Barbara County mountains and coastal areas. Although wind advisories are not yet in place, the situation will be monitored closely.
