Portland, OR – The National Weather Service reports that a westerly flow aloft will maintain dry conditions with variable cloud cover across the region today. As high pressure builds inland, residents can expect slightly warmer temperatures starting Monday and continuing through Tuesday, with highs reaching the upper 70s in many areas.

After a weak trough brings cooler and more moist conditions today, temperatures in the Willamette Valley may see only a 20-30% chance of exceeding 70 degrees. However, as ridging takes hold tonight, light offshore winds will create breezy conditions, particularly through the Columbia Gorge and Cascades, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph on Monday afternoon. Northerly winds may also produce gusts of up to 20 mph in the Willamette Valley.

Looking ahead, mild and dry weather is expected to persist into the week, but cooler and wetter conditions are forecasted for next weekend. This transitional weather pattern offers a taste of fall, with cool nights and warm afternoons—perfect for autumn activities like visiting pumpkin patches.
