Southern California is bracing for scorching temperatures through early next week as a high-pressure system remains over the region. Inland areas, including valleys and mountains, will experience extreme heat, with highs ranging 10 to 20 degrees above average. Temperatures could soar up to 105°F in some areas, with overnight lows offering little relief.

While the coast will be moderated by a shallow marine layer, inland regions face major HeatRisk, and dense fog advisories have been issued for coastal Orange County. The heat wave is expected to persist through the weekend, with near-record temperatures in many areas. Cooling is anticipated early next week.
