Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill permitting alcohol sales until 4 a.m. in a unique setting within California—a private VIP club at the newly opened Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. This exclusive exception allows approximately 100 affluent patrons to enjoy beverages beyond the state’s usual 2 a.m. cutoff.

The legislation, authored by Inglewood Assemblymember Tina McKinnor, permits alcohol sales in a private area of no more than 2,500 square feet immediately following major events, including sporting events, concerts, or private gatherings not open to the public.

This move highlights the state’s focus on accommodating elite experiences while maintaining regulations for the general public. As the Intuit Dome prepares to host various high-profile events, the newly authorized late-night alcohol sales will cater to its exclusive clientele, setting a distinct precedent in California's alcohol laws.
