The Golden Gate National Recreation Area is reminding visitors to stay on designated trails in the Marin Headlands, particularly near the hazardous cliffs at Point Bonita. Officials have issued warnings that the cliffs are unstable, with frequent rock falls and steep drops making them extremely dangerous for climbing.

With over 50 trails available for safe exploration, there’s no need to venture into protected or off-limits areas. Visitors are urged to respect safety guidelines to avoid accidents and preserve the natural beauty of the park.

“What’s your favorite in-bounds trail to hike?” park officials asked on social media, encouraging visitors to enjoy the scenic, but safe, paths the park has to offer.
