MARIN COUNTY – Caltrans Bay Area-District 4 has announced a series of curb ramp and sidewalk upgrades along State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) beginning this October. The project, designed to improve pedestrian and cyclist access, pavement resurfacing, and upgrade drainage and signage, spans nearly 14 miles and is expected to be completed by Summer 2025.

From October 7-11, one-way traffic control will be in effect in Tomales from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Additionally, on October 10, electrical work near West Marin School in Point Reyes will occur from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with flaggers assisting drivers.

Motorists should expect traffic shifts and keep an eye out for Changeable Message signs. Caltrans encourages drivers to use caution in work zones and stay updated with real-time traffic information on Caltrans QuickMap at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov.
