The Metropolitan Museum of Art has revealed the theme for the 2025 Met Gala, officially known as the Costume Institute Benefit. Inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion, the event will celebrate “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” exploring the influence of Black men on dandyism from the 18th century to the present.

Overseen by Vogue editor and co-chair Anna Wintour, the exhibit aims to highlight the elegance and cultural impact of Black fashion. The dress code will be announced closer to the event.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who oversees the gala and serves as co-chair, stated that the exhibit will highlight the influential style of Black men in the context of dandyism, spanning from the 18th century to the present day. The specific dress code for the event will be unveiled as the date approaches.
