    American holiday-seekers eagerly await return of Ritz Carlton brand to popular Mexican resort city

    Marriott International, Inc. has announced plans to bring The Ritz-Carlton back to Cancun with a new luxury development at Punta Nizuc. In partnership with FibraHotel, Fibra Danhos, and Beyond Ventures, the project will feature a 131-room luxury hotel and 126 branded residences in a LEED-certified building. The venture marks a significant addition to Cancun’s luxury hospitality landscape.

    Set to open in 2027, the Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, Punta Nizuc will offer guests and residents stunning ocean views, a private shoreline, and exclusive amenities. These will include a sprawling oceanfront pool complex, a destination spa, and six gourmet restaurants, along with specialized services for residents.

    “Cancun continues to be a premier destination, and we’re thrilled to bring The Ritz-Carlton back to this vibrant region,” said Brian King, President of Marriott International’s Caribbean & Latin America division. Cancun's appeal, with its beaches, nightlife, and cultural experiences, draws nearly 30 million visitors annually.

    The development partners, FibraHotel, Fibra Danhos, and Beyond Ventures, expressed their pride in the collaboration, stating the project will set a new standard for luxury hospitality and residential experiences in the region. The design will be led by renowned firms Lissoni & Partners and Cherem Arquitectos.
