A Powerball player near the California/Nevada state line came close to hitting the jackpot in Wednesday's drawing, winning $2.3 million, according to the California Lottery website. The lucky ticket, sold at Primm Valley Lotto in Nipton, matched five of the numbers but missed the Powerball number, earning the player $2,321,838.

The winning numbers were 25, 32, 43, 53, and 66, with the Powerball number 10. While the jackpot remains unclaimed and has now risen to $364 million for Saturday's drawing, another player also won $42,219 by matching four of the five numbers and the Powerball.

Nipton, located in San Bernardino County, is about 64 miles from Las Vegas.

Powerball excitement continues to build as players across the country anticipate the next big drawing on Saturday.
