Northwestern California is in for a damp weekend, as light rain spreads across the region today. The National Weather Service in Eureka reported that an upper-level low is pushing an occluded front onshore, bringing rainfall amounts of a tenth to half an inch in Humboldt County, with lighter rain in surrounding areas. Some areas in the King Range could see up to an inch of rain.

Temperatures are expected to remain cool today, with highs around 70°F for interior regions. Winds gusting between 20 to 30 mph across coastal ridges are expected to weaken by dawn.

High pressure is forecasted to build over the region on Sunday and Monday, bringing seasonable temperatures. However, fog and low clouds may linger in interior valleys, with some areas potentially experiencing light frost.

Another rainfall event is expected mid-week as an upper-level trough approaches the West Coast. The chance of significant rainfall varies, with Humboldt and Del Norte counties having a 60-70% chance of more than an inch of rain, while Lake County has a lower probability of 20-30%. Warmer and milder weather is forecasted for the end of the week.
