California Zoo where they want to bring Giant Pandas woefully outdated, unsafe, report says

A recent draft report from an oversight committee has raised serious concerns about the management and conditions at the San Francisco Zoo, describing many of its animal habitats as “outdated” and in dire need of modernization.

The report, compiled by several members of the San Francisco Animal Control and Welfare Commission, asserts that certain areas of the zoo are “best described as dilapidated.” The commissioners emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategic redesign plan to revitalize the habitats and improve the overall welfare of the animals.

The findings stem from a tour of the zoo conducted by the commission in August, during which members concluded that the current conditions pose safety risks. Some commissioners also engaged in discussions with representatives from advocacy groups, including In Defense of Animals and Panda Voices, who echoed concerns about the zoo's state.
