The National Weather Service Hanford has reported that slightly above-average temperatures will persist in Central California over the next couple of days due to a high-pressure system. However, a cooling trend is expected to begin before the weekend. From Wednesday through Friday morning, Yosemite National Park could see a 50-70 percent chance of precipitation, while the Southern Sierra Nevada has a 25 to 50 percent chance of rain.

As conditions change midweek, winds will increase in wind-prone areas, with relative humidity values decreasing by Friday. Additionally, there is a potential for a dusting of snow in the Sierra Nevada above 8,000 feet during the same period. Tioga Pass has a 65% chance of experiencing light snowfall, with a 32% chance of accumulating at least an inch by Friday.

Afternoon highs will remain a few degrees above average today and tomorrow, but cooler air is expected to move in with a low-pressure trough on Wednesday, bringing light rain to Fresno County and the Sierra Nevada. Rain may mix with snow at higher elevations, particularly above 9,000 feet, with potential for gusty winds and blowing dust as well.
