Caltrans is advising motorists of extended ramp closures as part of the ongoing Yolo Interstate 80 (I-80) Pavement Rehabilitation Project, set to begin Friday, October 4. The construction work will involve the closure of the eastbound U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) exit ramps to Jefferson Boulevard and State Route 275 in West Sacramento for repaving.

    Scheduled Closure Details:

    • Duration: 9 p.m. Friday, October 4, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, October 16
    • Location: Eastbound US 50 Jefferson Blvd and State Route 275 Exit Ramps (EXIT 3)

Detour Instructions: Motorists are advised to use the following detour: take EB US 50 to 5th Street (EXIT 4B), make a left turn onto 5th Street, stay left, and return to WB San Francisco 80. From there, continue to Jefferson Blvd and State Route 275 (EXIT 3).

The work zone will extend from the Yolo Causeway through West Sacramento on I-80 and US 50, with the speed limit reduced to 55 miles per hour 24/7 for the safety of both workers and motorists. While the work is scheduled as outlined, it is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather conditions, and construction-related issues.

The 13-day exit closures are designed to minimize the duration of construction and enhance worker safety. This $280 million project is partially funded by $47 million from Senate Bill (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, which provides $5 billion annually for transportation funding.
