Intel prepares to lay off 1,300 employees at several Oregon facilities before holidays

Intel Corporation is preparing to lay off 1,300 employees at several of its Oregon facilities starting in November 2024, according to a WARN noticed filed with federal officials. The job cuts will impact workers at locations in Aloha and Hillsboro, including Intel’s sites on SW 198th Ave, NE Century Blvd, NE Elam Young Pkwy, and NE 25th Ave in Hillsboro. The company has confirmed that no union represents the affected employees and that all impacted workers will be notified at least 60 days in advance. To support those affected, Intel will offer nine weeks of pay and benefits to employees whose positions are being eliminated.
