On October 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the long-awaited India Basin Waterfront Park at 900 Innes Avenue will officially open, marking a milestone for the Bayview-Hunters Point community in San Francisco. The event, hosted by project partners including the Trust for Public Land and San Francisco Recreation and Parks, will feature live music, cultural performances, free food, historical tours, and resources connecting visitors to the Equitable Development Plan.

In conjunction with the park opening, the adjacent India Basin Shoreline Park will host its annual Fall Fest, offering a local vendor market, DJ, pumpkin patch, art activities, and more. This new 10-acre park, a decade in the making, emphasizes social equity, public access, and environmental justice while preserving the neighborhood’s culture. The park’s development will continue with renovations expected through 2027.
