Bay Area drivers should prepare for significant traffic changes this weekend as Caltrans announces partial closures on southbound I-680 between Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon and the I-580/I-680 connector in Pleasanton.

Starting Friday, October 18 at 9 PM through Monday, October 21 at 4 AM, three right lanes will be closed for pavement repairs. However, two left lanes will remain open.

Detours are available for drivers from Vacaville, Benicia, Concord, and Walnut Creek, with full closures at the Alcosta Boulevard onramp and offramp. The work aims to reduce future nighttime closures. Drivers are urged to stay alert and slow down for the "Cone Zone," as construction vehicles will be entering and exiting the area. Just remember the people working aren’t doing it for fun! It’s their job.
