The National Weather Service in Reno, NV, has issued an update regarding the upcoming weather conditions, highlighting near to sub-freezing temperatures expected tonight into Saturday. Following a chilly morning where lows dipped to 20-30 degrees across lower elevations and even into the upper teens in some colder spots, residents should prepare for another cold night.

Gusty northeast winds along Sierra ridges are anticipated to persist through tonight before tapering off on Saturday morning. Wind sensors reported peak gusts of up to 104 mph in the Sierra, leading to choppy conditions on Lake Tahoe with gusts of 30-35 mph recorded on mid-lake buoys.

As the weekend progresses, a warming trend is forecasted, with temperatures rising by 5-10 degrees on Saturday, reaching highs between the upper 50s and near 65 degrees. Sunday through mid-week will see temperatures soar into the upper 60s and mid-70s, with the warmest days expected around Tuesday and Wednesday.
