The National Weather Service in San Diego reported powerful wind gusts across Southern California today, with the highest recorded gust reaching 79 mph at Marshall Peak in the San Bernardino Mountains. Other significant gusts included 70 mph at Lower Lytle Creek Ridge and 66 mph at Arrowhead Springs.

The winds primarily impacted higher elevations, with Heaps Peak seeing gusts of 65 mph and Santiago Peak recording the same. These strong winds are typical for the region during Santa Ana wind events, which often bring gusty conditions to the mountains and foothills.
