Metro is set to introduce significant changes to the C and K Lines as part of the ongoing efforts to improve transit connections in Los Angeles, particularly to LAX. Two key updates include new routes for both lines and the opening of the new Aviation/Century Station, which will serve thousands of jobs in the aviation and cargo industries near LAX.

The new routes will see C Line trains running between Norwalk and the new Aviation/Century Station, while K Line trains will operate between Redondo Beach and Aviation/Century. Until the LAX/Metro Transit Center opens, K Line trains will also run separately between Westchester/Veterans and Expo/Crenshaw. Riders on the western stations of the C Line will need to transfer at the Aviation/Century Station.

The Aviation/Century Station, located near LAX hotels and key employment centers, is part of the lead-up to the opening of the LAX/Metro Transit Center. Once completed, this center will become the main connection between Metro and the airport.
