CHICO, Calif. — Caltrans is making progress on its $24.8 million safety improvement project along State Route 32 (SR-32) in Chico, with nighttime construction scheduled for the coming weeks.

Motorists should expect delays as one-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Meridian Road and River Road on the following dates:

    • October 21-25
    • October 28
    • November 3-7

Drivers are urged to plan ahead and exercise caution while traveling through the construction zone. The project, expected to be completed before Thanksgiving, includes installing a traffic signal at Meridian Road, extending deceleration lanes, repaving, repairing culverts, and improving lighting. These upgrades aim to enhance safety for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
