Caltrans Bay Area-District 4 has announced a series of lane closures on U.S. 101 for essential median barrier upgrades. The work is set to begin on Friday, October 25, at 10:00 PM and will continue until Monday, October 28, at 5:00 AM. During this period, the North and Southbound Express Lanes (Lane #1) will be closed for a 2.5-mile stretch from the San Mateo/Santa Clara County line to Whipple Avenue.

This closure marks the seventh of nine planned 55-hour single-lane closures as part of Caltrans' ongoing safety improvement efforts. Additionally, temporary closures of other lanes may occur to facilitate the movement of equipment and materials. Motorists should be aware of upcoming closures scheduled for November 1-4 and November 15-18 as work progresses. Caltrans encourages drivers to plan their routes accordingly and to expect delays during this construction period.
