$3.3 million in FEMA relief announced for the replacement of the Houma Fire Department Airbase Station
U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. and John Kennedy recently announced Louisiana will receive $4,656,004.92 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Hurricane Ida relief. Terrebonne Parish will receive $3,340,194.23 for the replacement of the Houma Fire Department Airbase Station. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will receive $1,315,810.69 for hazardous debris and tree removal efforts.
Chicken Salad Chick Opens First Location in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS – Chicken Salad Chick, a fast-casual chicken salad restaurant chain, has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement that will bring four restaurants to New Orleans. The first location is slated to open in 2025. The three additional locations are in various stages of development. This multi-unit deal will add to the brand’s 12 open locations in Louisiana.

Man shot dead in 7th Ward home identified by New Orleans coroner
A man who was killed in a recent New Orleans shooting was identified Monday morning by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office. Eric Gary, 50, was shot and killed in a 7th Ward home in the 1400 block of North Claiborne Avenue last Wednesday, according to the New Orleans Police Department. When New Orleans police responded to the call at 2:19 a.m., they found Gary with multiple gunshot wounds.
