New program aims to reduce number of empty apartments and buildings
Council Member Robin Wonsley (Ward 2) aims to decrease residential and commercial vacancy with a new program that would charge property owners for unused buildings. Wonsley recently proposed a program that would charge landlord fees for vacant buildings left for six months or more. Minneapolis’s vacancy rate was 13.6% in 2023, according to Office Finder statistics.
Minnesota Basketball: Gophers find late transfer, Tyler Cochran from Toledo
With one final scholarship remaining, the Gophers landed a late transfer. Tyler Cochran is coming to Minnesota from Toledo. Cochran has bounced around for his collegiate career. Out of high school in Illinois he played his first two seasons at Northern Illinois before transferring to Ball State for 1 season and then Toledo for two. This offseason he had previously committed to Oregon State before decommitting and now landing at Minnesota.
