Man arrested for allegedly piercing tires with caltrops since 2021 in Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. – A man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly purchasing and using caltrops to pierce tires in Yakima. Yakima Police say caltrops are multi-pointed spikes that are used to affect traffic by piercing and deflating tires. Since 2021, YPD says the use of caltrops have harmed several drivers’ tires along West Chestnut Avenue.

ODFW warns dog owners about deadly salmon poisoning after several cases near Newport
SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - After several dogs were sickened from salmon poisoning around Newport, Oregon authorities warned people to keep pets away from dead fish on Thursday. According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, salmon and trout carcasses may harbor the bacteria Neorickettsia helminthoeca in their blood which can kill dogs without treatment. The bacteria is transmitted through a parasitic flatworm or “fluke” and can infect a dog after it eats, bites or even licks an infected fish carcass.
