The Seattle-based e-commerce giant, which began constructing two large warehouses in 2021, is now actively recruiting warehouse associates to meet its operational needs.
20th Kiwanis Cruise In to vroom into Troutdale
Calling all chrome lovers, an annual car show is set to take over Downtown Troutdale. The 20th Kiwanis Annual Cruise In will be the place to be to soak in an incredible amount of cars from all decades. There will be nearly a hundred convertibles, Corvettes, customs and imports, muscle cars, rat rods and roadsters, trucks and motorcycles, and everything in between. The event is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of the Columbia Gorge, and will close down the Historic Columbia River Highway and several side streets in Downtown Troutdale temporarily to showcase all the amazing vehicles. The free event will run from 2-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, followed by a concert from 6-8 p.m. in Mayor’s Square. In addition to the cars, there will be shopping and dining opportunities with the many Troutdale businesses. There will also be some booths set up to explore.

Falls Fire grows to 91,000 acres, still 0% contained
The following is the Wednesday morning update on the Falls Fire, posted to the official Falls Fire Facebook page:. The Falls Fire was less active yesterday than predicted. The fire acreage is now estimated to be 91,269 with 0% containment. The fire is burning approximately 13.5 miles north of Burns, 15 miles southwest of Seneca, and 3 miles west of Highway (Hwy) 395. Hwy 395 was reopened yesterday at approximately noon. Traffic traveling between mile posts 44 and 60 will follow lead vehicles through active firefighting operations.

Police: 1 shot during argument between brothers in SE Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - Portland police say gun violence after an argument put a man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Just after midnight, officers responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Southeast 146th Avenue, just off of East Burnside Street. Officers arrived to the scene and found a man with life-threatening injuries. The victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
Police ID motorcycle rider and passenger who died after crash sent them flying off Morrison Bridge
The motorcycle rider and his passenger who died after crashing on the Morrison Bridge and flying over the barrier last month have been publicly identified. The driver of the motorcycle was Nicholas James Munt-Herrera, 30. His passenger was Angelica Precious Camacho, 24, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement on Tuesday.
