R&B in the Park Results in Shooting
Winnfield, LA—-What started out as a community event of Rhythm and Blues and barbeque event ended in the shooting of a local man. On Sunday night, July 7, the event was held at the Luckey Street baseball park. At approximately 10:00 pm a call was received by police dispatch of a fight in the park. While responding, Sgt Triplett of the Winnfield Police Department heard shots being fired from that direction. He then observed several people scattering from the intersection of Luckey and Thompson Streets, about 2 blocks from the event. As he arrived at that location, a b/m subject was being loaded into a private car and was taken to the Winn Parish Hospital with gunshot wounds. Sgt Triplett called for a mobilization of off-duty officers and back up from the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office as the crowd of over 200 people were causing chaos trying to leave all at the same time, contaminating any time of crime scene which had not been determined at the time.

Montana Wanted Person Arrested in Winnfield
Winnfield, LA—-The Winnfield Police Department was contacted by a Detective from the Bozeman, Montana Police Department that they had information that a wanted person from their jurisdiction was in the Winnfield area. The department received faxed copies of felony warrants issued by the 18th Judicial District Court of the State of Montana, for the County of Gallatin for several charges.

Natchitoches woman arrested for filing a false police report
NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - Natchitoches Police Department reported that Haley Cobb, 18, of Natchitoches was arrested on July 17 for filing a false police report. NPD stated that officers were dispatched to the police station on July 6 in reference to a complaint. Officers spoke with Cobb and contacted the Criminal Investigations Division due to the nature of the crime.

Henderson to serve life-plus prison term
SHREVEPORT, La. - A Shreveport woman who shot her husband and then doused his body with gasoline must serve life in prison, and then some, a Caddo district judge has ruled. Charlene Henderson, 45, found guilty in June of the May 16, 2022 second-degree murder of Larry Clark, also 45, was sentenced Tuesday to the mandatory life term. She was sentenced to another 20 years in prison, to be served consecutively, for conviction of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
