Wynona offers blended learning, full virtual enrollment
The Wynona Public School District has joined the THRIVE Learning Collaborative, Oklahoma’s only public virtual school cooperative. Pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students attending on-site at Wynona will continue to be provided with traditional full-day instruction by teachers present in the classroom, while students attending on-site in grades 6-12 will be provided blended learning options. Blended learning for these students will include a combination of traditional coursework with on-site instruction, in addition to virtual courses with live online instruction provided by certified THRIVE instructors.
Edmond warns Lake Arcadia visitors to keep an eye out for blue-green algae
The algae was identified near Lake Arcadia’s dam. City officials say this won’t affect Edmond’s drinking water, which comes in part from the lake. But the algae could cause problems for people trying to cool down in and on the water. The toxins produced by blue-green algae can irritate the skin, cause stomach troubles, and at high doses lead to difficulty breathing.

If the Juvenile Justice Center in Tulsa did close temporarily, all of its residents would have to be housed in other juvenile facilities across the state. The closest one to Tulsa is in Creek County.

Trio of Oklahoma Sooners recruiting targets among ESPN’s top 25 prospects
The Oklahoma Sooners 2025 recruiting class is nearly complete. They have 22 players committed to the class but are working to earn commitments from three more targets this cycle. Heat Warnings Issued in Oklahoma and Arkansas, Indexes up to 113 Degrees
Oklahoma City, OK – An excessive heat warning is in effect for parts of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas from noon to 9 PM today. Residents should prepare for dangerously high heat index values up to 113 degrees in affected areas including Tulsa, Muskogee, and Bartlesville.
