    Lydia Ko wins gold

Lydia Ko built on her impressive career record on the LPGA Tour with a gold medal at Paris 2024 – and she was powered by a mixture of clubs.

Ko, an erstwhile PXG signed player, has alternated between PXG driver models and Titleist models like the TSi3 and TSR3. Ko now trusts Ping off the tee, utilising the G430 LST driver.

She uses the G430 LST in a 10.5 degree head with a Mitsubushi Diamana GT 50 S flex shaft. The Ping G430 range are heralded as some of the best on the market, and the LST was particularly impressive with the ball speed and aggressive spin statistics during testing.

In the fairway woods, Ko uses a 3 and 5 wood from Ping in the G430 Max range. These have a loft of 15 and 18 degrees, which is quite typical for an LPGA Tour player. The G430 Max fairway woods are exceptionally forgiving and easy to launch.

The G430 range from Ping has many fans and targets a broad section of players and Ko also uses their hybrid to bridge the gap between her fairway woods and irons.

Ko, like many tour players, uses a combination set of irons. She begins at the top of the bag with the Ping i230 irons in her 5, 6 and 7 irons before transitioning to the Ping Blueprint S in her 8 and 9 irons. This is frequently done to generate a bit of additional pop and launch at the top of the bag while concentrating on feel and control in the short irons.

The two-time Major winner carries four Titleist Vokey SM9 wedges to cover her short-game needs. She has a 46-10F, 48-10F (bent to 49˚), 54-10F and a 58-08F (bent to 59˚).

Ko’s putter status has evolved significantly in recent years. She had previously used a PXG Blackjack model before upgrading to the Thunderbolt prototype and Thunderbolt C model. She also had a Ping Ketsch center-shafted model in the bag for a long time, but she looks to have lately converted to a Scotty Cameron tour-only prototype model labelled the TG6.
