Matt Wallace used a mixed but fairly straightforward bag to claim his first DP World Tour title in five years when he won the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.

Wallace uses the Ping G430 LST driver – the 10.5˚ model helping him finish 12th for Strokes Gained: Off The Tee and eighth for Driving Accuracy across the four rounds in the Alps. He had used a Titleist TSR3 driver during his 2023 season.

When it comes to his fairway woods, he uses a 16.5˚ TaylorMade Qi10 Tour.

The 34-year-old uses a Titleist TSR2 at 18˚ of loft for his only hybrid in the bag. He had switched his Titleist T200 utility iron (2) for the 18 degree Titleist TSR2 hybrid earlier this term.

Wallace also uses the full set of 2021 Callaway X Forged CB irons, from four through to nine – these have remained the same since he first put them in at the 2022 KLM Open. He does not use a 3-iron at all.

Like many other players on the Pro tours including British Masters winner Niklas Nørgaard, he banks on the Titleist Vokey SM10’s for his wedges, with 46, 50 and 54 degrees of loft and the SM10-WW Proto at 60˚.

He completes his bag with a Titleist Scotty Cameron Tour Only T-9 putter, from their 2024 range.

    Wallace uses a 2023 Titleist Pro V1 X ball.

“I’m a low spin player so I’m always trying to gain as much spin as possible,” Wallace said of the ball.

“We play on firm greens over here on the PGA Tour. It’s really important that my spin numbers don’t drop too low. I play Pro V1x because it gave me, the launch, the spin, the control, a bit more distance off the tee as well, without losing the finesse and precision around the greens.”

Victory in Switzerland gave him an early lead in the fight to join Luke Donald’s Ryder Cup squad in Bethpage, which he claims has inspired him to set new goals.

“I needed something like the change in the Ryder Cup points list to really give me a focus,” he said.

“Every single week now is, hopefully, going to be like this week.”
