Pennsylvania Football Coach Sent Team to Shovel Snow for the Elderly

A kind coach in Pennsylvania canceled his team's workout and sent them out to help shovel snow instead.

Bethel Park High School football coach canceled his team's workout and sent them out to shovel snow for elderly and disabled people in and around the neighborhood where his team lives.

His tweet reads "Due to expected severe weather, Monday's weightlifting workout has been cancelled [sic]. Find an elderly or disabled neighbor and shovel their driveway. Don't accept any money - that's our Monday workout."

DeLallo explained that as well as doing good, having athletes shovel snow around their neighborhoods allows them to touch base with the community and give back in a way that is tangible.

He spoke to Fox News and said, "Sports are important in our community, high school sports are important. We get great crowds and support. So this is a way to go out and connect with them. This was a good way to kind of get them face to face with their neighbors, doing something that gives back to a community that is so supportive of our program. It's really nice to be able to do that."
