A 2-Year-Old Hero Saved His Family From a Fire in Texas

    2022-02-22

A family in Alvord, Texas says that the only reason they are alive today is because of their 2-year-old son.

Last month, a fire started in the early morning hours in Nathan and Kayla Dahl's home. The family of seven was sound asleep when 2-year-old Brandon Dahl came running into his parent's room exclaiming, "Mommy, hot! Mommy, hot!" They had seconds to get out of their home.

The fire is believed to have started in the living room, it quickly spread to the rest of the house and the Dahl family lost everything. However, thanks to Brandon, they walked away virtually unscathed, aside from some emotional wounds, and were all spared by the raging flames that engulfed their home.

Brandon spoke a handful of words and because of those few words, the family had just enough time to grab their children and exit the home, watching from the street as the fire quickly spread.

Brandon had been sleeping in the living room because he wasn't feeling well and Kayla wanted to be able to quickly check on him if anything was going wrong. Luckily, Brandon was the hero of this story - springing to action when he saw the fast-moving flames, running to wake his parents to make sure they all got out alive.

Brandon's father, Nathan Dahl, explained that only about one minute after they ran from the house, there were flames shooting out of the front door.

Thankfully, this family has a little hero and is now safe and sound - alive and together.
