Clear Lake woman killed in Polk County collision
DES MOINES, Iowa – A Cerro Gordo County woman has been identified as one of the victims in a fatal collision in Polk County. The Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the intersection of NE 44th Street and NW 126th Avenue around 2 pm on August 23. Deputies arrived at the scene and found two vehicles, one in the southeast ditch and the other in a wooded tree line on the south side of the road. The vehicle in the tree line was on fire.
More charges filed against a Hampton man charged with leaving flyers at Hispanic businesses
More charges have been filed against a 38-year-old Hampton man who was arrested August 15th after an investigation was conducted in Franklin County regarding flyers attached to local Hispanic businesses. Daniel Embree is alleged to have placed flyers on the doors of the Hispanic businesses on August 13th that included the words “USA Illegal Immigrant Hunting Permit”. He was originally charged with 8 counts of first degree harassment, and has now been charged with 8 additional counts of 5th degree criminal mischief-hate crime.
Minnesota motorcyclist pleads not guilty to meth crime in North Iowa
MASON CITY, Iowa – A man arrested with over 100 grams of methamphetamine in Clear Lake is pleading not guilty. Bradley Lee Winters, 57 of Owatonna, is charged with intent to deliver meth, failure to use a drug tax stamp, first-degree harassment, assault on person in certain occupations, and interference with official acts resulting in bodily injury.
Garner Has a New Police Dog
The Garner Police Department has a new K-9 Police recruit in Ranger. He made his official appearance before the Garner City Council on Tuesday night. According to Garner Police Chief Tim Dodge, Ranger has made an excellent recruit so far and is a compliment to the current K-9 officer Turbo.
