Goodhue County plans cannabis moratorium
The Goodhue County Board is considering an emergency moratorium on cannabis dispensaries to give county staff time to write regulations. A public hearing on the proposed moratorium is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 in Cannon Falls. The moratorium would be in place until Jan. 1, 2025 and would prohibit both new and pending cannabis locations, according to a draft.
Rochester Area Continued to Lead Minnesota For Job Growth in May
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The latest jobs data for southeastern Minnesota is a "mixed bag." Olmsted County continued to report the lowest unemployment rate in the region last month at 2%. According to the data from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, the rate was up a tenth of a percentage point from April but was a tenth of a point lower than the jobless rate from May of last year.
Kenyon Woman Killed in Collision With Deer Near Zumbrota
Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News) - An encounter last with a deer on a Highway in Goodhue County claimed the life of a Kenyon woman. The State Patrol says the deadly incident was reported at 9:30 PM on Highway 60 about a mile west of Zumbrota. The preliminary crash report indicates 35-year-old Samantha Diane Johnson was driving a Dodge Neon west on Highway 60 when the car made contact with a deer.
