    Woman dead after Goodlettsville home catches fire

    GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman is dead after a home caught fire in Goodlettsville early Tuesday morning.

    Goodlettsville Fire Chief Kenneth Reeves told News 2 the fire happened at a duplex on Katy Hill at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2. A family reportedly arrived at the home, found it on fire, and called for help.

    Reeves said crews arrived and found heavy smoke coming out of a window. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire fairly quickly and found a 68-year-old woman dead in the home.

    No other injuries were reported.

    The Red Cross is currently assisting residents of the adjoining duplex unit.

    The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
