The Tres Rios Nature Festival, an annual free celebration of nature, sustainability, and outdoor recreational opportunities, is coming to Goodyear this month.

To highlight the beauty of the Arizona desert, the festival this year takes place at a different venue – the Estrella Mountain Regional Park, at 14805 W. Vineyard Ave., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-25.

The Estrella Mountain Regional Park, managed by Maricopa County Parks & Recreation Department, offers a backdrop with its pristine desert landscape and stunning views of the Sierra Estrella mountain range. Festivalgoers are invited to enjoy free park entry throughout the two-day event, allowing them to explore the park's hiking trails, grassy picnic areas, and a nature-themed play structure.

Presented by Wildlife for Tomorrow, the Tres Rios Nature Festival features birdwatching, archery, guided hikes, encounters with animals, eco-crafts, and nature center presentations by Discover Avondale. Live music presented by Avondale Toyota and a variety of food trucks, including vegan options and desserts, will add to the festival experience.

Gate fees for the park will be waived during the event. Festivalgoers can enter the park via West Vineyard Avenue. WeRIDE vans will be in service for free for the duration of the event to help those in attendance to and from their vehicles.

Visit www.AvondaleAZ.gov/TresRios or call 623-333-2400 to stay informed about event schedules, activities, and an interactive map.

The Tres Rios Nature Festival, produced by Avondale Parks & Recreation, is made possible by the support of sponsors including Wildlife for Tomorrow, Discover Avondale, APS, Salt River Project, Avondale Toyota, Sonoran Audubon Society, WeRIDE, and West Valley View.

Partners include Arizona Game and Fish, Arizona Trail Association, Arizona Wildlife Federation, ASU, the city of Goodyear, Corazon Latino, Estrella Mountain Community College, Fallen Feathers, Gila River Indian Community, Lower Gila River Collaboration, Rio Reimagined, Maricopa County, Maricopa County Parks & Recreation, Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.
