The city of Goodyear’s official emergency alert notification system, GY Alerts, is a free service that sends customized alerts via text message, email and voice message to residents.

By signing up for GY Alerts, residents can stay informed about potential threats to their safety and take necessary actions to protect themselves and their families.

“Public safety is paramount in Goodyear,” said Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “GY Alerts is another example of our continuous efforts to ensure our residents feel safe in our community and are well-informed in the event that we need to disseminate urgent information.”

The GY Alerts system uses RAVE Mobile Safety Solutions to send real-time alerts with important information about potentially life-saving steps. Emergency alerts are sent when there is an immediate threat to life or property with the goal of ensuring the Goodyear community has access to timely and accurate information during emergencies.

“In emergencies, direct communication is important,” said Goodyear Police Chief Art Miller. “GY Alerts provides timely information straight to your phone, fostering a community that's informed, proactive and secure."

In addition to emergency alerts, GY Alerts offers customizable community notifications from other agencies and surrounding cities. These notifications include severe weather updates, safety alerts from state and county departments, major road closures from ADOT and more.

“GY Alerts is a necessary tool for our community,” said Goodyear Fire Chief Paul Luizzi. “Our residents are more mobile than ever before and signing up for GY Alerts allows residents to stay connected during times of emergencies or severe weather.”
