Goodyear honored as a health workplace

The city of Goodyear received the platinum award from the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program for the sixth consecutive year.

The award is the highest distinction bestowed by HAWP, which recognizes organizations that have demonstrated efforts in promoting employee health and wellness.

“We are thrilled to receive the platinum award for the sixth consecutive year,” said Goodyear City Manager Wynette Reed. “Well-being is of utmost importance to me, and we are proud to be recognized for prioritizing the health and well-being of our employees and their families so they can take care of the Goodyear community.”
The city of Goodyear fosters a culture that focuses on what it calls,

“The Whole Employee,” a comprehensive outlook that focuses on the financial, career, social, physical and community-related well-being of its employees.

Some of the criteria the city submitted for this year’s award included the way it empowers its employees to make informed choices that nourish their minds and their bodies; how it encourages employees to move throughout the day and to take the stairs whenever possible through regular walking challenges; and its month-long focus on mental health during Mental Health Awareness Month in May.
