Goodyear earns 6th straight healthy worksite program award

The city of Goodyear earned a platinum award from the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program for the sixth consecutive year.

The platinum award is the highest level of distinction, which recognizes organizations that have demonstrated outstanding efforts in promoting employee health and wellness. The city of Goodyear emphasizes wellbeing for its 900 employees through leadership support by encouraging employees to support each other and through the implementation of benefits and policies.

"We are thrilled to receive the platinum award for the sixth consecutive year,” Goodyear City Manager Wynette Reed shared in a press release. “Wellbeing is of utmost importance to me, and we are proud to be recognized for prioritizing the health and wellbeing of our employees and their families so they can take care of the Goodyear community.”

Some of the criteria the city submitted for this year’s award included the way it empowers employees to make informed choices that nourish minds and bodies; how it encourages employees to move throughout the day and to take the stairs whenever possible through regular walking challenges; and its month-long focus on mental health during Mental Health Awareness Month in May.
